All that is left on the front is unhooking the transmission and pulling the motor then the steering rack I have the rear brakes and both sway bars removed as well.

WRX teardown Part 1

I started tearing down the WRX after getting it off the trailer and backed into the garage.

I was able to get most of the front clip off, and discovered my first challenge. the drivers side timing belt cover was broke, and looked like it had been that way for quite a while. The car did sustain another accident before the total, as the drivers side crush bumper had been repaired. My hope is that this is not too damaging, and the engine is still in good shape. It does start right up ,and had great power the few minuted I drove it around the neighborhood.

Pictures of the Donor I bought. 2007 WRX with 70K miles. $3315 from Copart! Love that company. I highly recommend http://www.jlautobrokers.com if you are looking to buy a salvage. It was an easy and almost painless process. they even bid on the car for me because I could not. I picked it up 3 days later in Orlando, and was in and out of the lot in 30 minutes! The loader operator even dropped it righ on my trailer!

I did get it running, and it runs fine! I am getting it into the garage today so I can start disassembling it and sell off parts I don’t need.12314983_AX
