I started tearing down the WRX after getting it off the trailer and backed into the garage.
I was able to get most of the front clip off, and discovered my first challenge. the drivers side timing belt cover was broke, and looked like it had been that way for quite a while. The car did sustain another accident before the total, as the drivers side crush bumper had been repaired. My hope is that this is not too damaging, and the engine is still in good shape. It does start right up ,and had great power the few minuted I drove it around the neighborhood.

FYI timing covers on all Suby motor’s can be get brittle over time. I’ve repalce lots of them over time. If they are not cracking the metal inserts in them caroaded or rusted to the bolts and end up spinning in the cover so you have to break them any-who to get the cover off. The covers are cheap to repalce so no worries.
Thanks for the feedback Dave! I am assuming that it is a dry area and not oiled. And maybe a little neverseize on the bolts will keep then from corroding up so much?
